learn something new everyday - june 2012

6.28.2012:  Paint a picture of the present in Improv.  Not what you're going to do or about someone else.  It's all about you, your partner, and your relationship.
6.27.2012:  Target executives really don't wow me like P&G ones have.  At least not at Marketing Partner Fair.
6.26.2012:  Keep my hands steady, tuck my left arm in, turn my head on 2, start a fold like a turn, step to the beat in turns...and I really, really need to learn to count to music.
6.25.2012:  Hold my shoulders down and back, hold my tension in my back, and keeps my arms relaxed.
6.24.2012:  The random important things in a city for me are:  Bike lanes, West Coast Swing, Pride weekend, Tedx, food trucks, farmers markets, parks.
6.23.2012:  Just show up.  It makes a difference.
6.22.2012:  Sometimes people surprise you.  A little courage to meet people is worth it.
6.21.2012:  I need someone who inspires me.  I've always been lucky to have had some of the best Marketing Directors in the company.  That streak is over.
6.20.2012:  I think carbs might really make me feel nauseous in large amounts.
6.19.2012:  I can't stay awake like I used to without caffeine.  The thunder last night was the loudest I've probably ever heard in my life.
6.18.2012:  Cincinnati does not have West Coast Swing.  Maybe that's how I'll qualify a city as progressive or not.
6.17.2012:  Minneapolis was a safe haven for gangsters from Chicago in the early 1900's.
6.16.2012:  It's cheaper to book separate flights than trying to fly to Lhasa - if it's even possible to do so.  I hope they lift the ban soon.
6.15.2012:  Add more cream to Alfredo - too much cheese makes it too textured.
6.14.2012:  If you make it about the other person and your connection together, the scene becomes much more interesting.
6.13.2012:  We're all in the same boat together.
6.12.2012:  I always will give what I want to give - even if I know the response might not be ideal...or none at all.  But that's just me.  And someday, someone will reciprocate.

the best part of waking up - june 2012

6.28.2012:  Walking out of our Fem Care briefing with Lisa when she asked me, "When did you pull that out of your ass?"
6.27.2012:  Talking all of our Healthcare buyers through our 2013 Marketing Partner Fair plans.  Mary held it up as best-in-class.
6.26.2012:  Talking to mom. She makes everything better.
6.25.2012:  Learning about frame in my West Coast Swing class.
6.24.2012:  Eating delicious Indian.  I am constantly amazed at the food here.

6.23.2012:  Going for a great run along the Mississippi.
5.22.2012:  Listening to Dan Savage in real life.  My favorite was when he called pregnancy an sti.
6.21.2012:  Laughing in improv class at Mike's and Liz's scene - the best work yet our of our class!
6.20.2012:  Meeting with Joela.  She's been an awesome partner at Target.
6.19.2012:  Eating the best peach I've had all summer - maybe ever!
6.18.2012:  Watching Hieu, David, Bonnie, Mike and Joy dance.  I want to dance like that someday.
6.17.2012:  Washing dishes at Mike's after our improv class potluck.  It's always nice when someone helps clean up after hosting a group of people.  Often some of the best conversations happen then as well.  Mike's a good one.  I hope he finds happiness in little ways in the short-term.
6.16.2012:  Shooting some awesome people watching photos at Rock the Garden.
6.15.2012:  Walking to my new grocery store around the corner.  I love living in a city.
6.14.2012:  Reading Alexa's thank you card.  "I couldn't be more excited to have a little girl.  There's a bond we form as women, whether we're close to our moms as daughters or best friends like you and I that I don't think exists (at least not the same way) with boys.  That emotion, love and support we have for each other is just not comparable to that between or with men."
6.13.2012:  Eating lunch with Lisa.  She even said before lunch that it would be the best part of her day.  She was absolutely right - at least it was for for sure the best part of mine.  I am so lucky to work with her.
6.12.2012:  Chatting with Joe.  It's crazy how you just have an instant connection with some people.  And no matter how infrequently you talk or how little you know each other - you talk as if you've known each other forever.

i want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life - june 2012

6.28.2012:  Melissa - She's been awesome in making me feel welcome to the team.
6.27.2012:  CLigz - We talked while she walked 3 miles.  While we're super different in interests, I think we have the same outlook and approach to life.
6.26.2012:  Hamline Auto Body - They stayed open late just to give me an estimate and made me an amazing offer.
6.25.2012:  Jonathan & Hieu - They both waited with Lori and I until he police came.
6.24.2012:  Alan - So nice he invited me to see Blue Man Group today with him.
6.23.2012:  Running - Great run to get my day going today.  I need to get back into it really.  I feel so much better when I do!
6.22.2012:  Michael - I made a new friend today.
6.21.2012:  Dave Lewis - I'm going to miss him more than he realizes.  He's always been a favorite.  He keeps me sane.
6.20.2012:  Sleeping - I fell asleep on my couch at 8 when I got home.  I needed it.
6.19.2012:  Working in Paper - As Vince said today, "Working in Paper is like the Hotel California - you never leave."  I still walk the Paper aisle...Laundry too.
6.18.2012:  Lisa - I really think that she's my favorite part of my job.
6.17.2012:  My dad - Happy Father's Day.  I found the perfect card for my dad that brought me to tears when I found it.  "Give a girl a great dad, and she can do anything."  I am so fortunate for every part of who I am because my heart comes from him.
6.16.2012:  Sleeping In - It feel so good every time.  Sleep is totally underrated.
6.15.2012:  Home - Perfect night for a great dinner and then to relax with me and my kitties.
6.14.2012:  Kristin - I am so happy she's my manager.  A real person.
6.13.2012:  Forgiving easily - I can't stay upset.  I hate the feeling, so I simply let it go.
6.12.2012:  Kreena - Catching up was exactly what I needed.
