12.31.09: Seeing Times Square on the afternoon of New Year's Eve - Now I have absolutely no interest in spending New Year's Eve standing outside in the cold for at least six hours to see a ball drop with a million people.
12.30.09: Vacation days - I burned my last one of the year.
12.29.09: Organization - My desk at work is clean, and my e-mail box is finally somewhat manageable. I need to keep this up throughout the new year.
12.28.09: Holiday hours - It's wonderful to be able to sleep in a bit during the holidays.
12.27.09: Sales - The after Christmas sales at the outlet mall were incredible. I bought two pairs of J. Crew jeans, two button down Polo collared shirts, four BCBG dresses, a Marc Jacobs dress, and a Coach wallet for $400. I would've spent $400 easily on just two of the BCBG dresses at full price.
12.26.09: Aspiration - I think people often confuse aspiration with ambition, where ambition seeks reward and aspiration is simply seeking a goal itself. I don't know what happened to me along the way, or why I feel this way, but I feel a connection to others that makes me want to do more than I can. I've always believed that some people go into the business world to make money - probably most do - but I believe that some also go into business to change the world - to touch lives and improve life.
12.25.09: Love - "Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do, but how much love we put in what we do."
12.24.09: A ridiculous family - We are the silliest, goofiest, most ridiculous family I know. I love it.
12.23.09: Manageable traffic and security lines - I left work at 4:15 for a 5:30 flight, and I almost surely would have missed my flight if traffic would have been heavier and the airport more crowded.
12.22.09: Kreena - The best part of Kellogg has been meeting Kreena.
12.21.09: Recognition for hard work - In my triad today, I was told that I have the intangibles that set me apart from the rest and that I have what it takes to do extremely well in brand management. I've worked extremely hard this past year, and it feels good to know it's being noticed.
12.20.09: Brian - It's always fun meeting people who you know will leave an impression on you for life.
12.19.09: The unexpected - Walking through the Estancia Bella Vista was probably my favorite part of the trip, which looking at the olive, lemon, pear trees, watching the horses and cows, sitting the hundred year old bushes that looked like trees. That's was one of the last places that I would've thought would be such a highlight.
12.18.09: Enjoying an active lifestyle - I think I was the only one who truly enjoyed kayaking down El Tigre in the sun.
12.17.09: Reasonable unions in Argentina - The strike in the Buenos Aires airport only lasted five hours, so we were able to continue on our trip that same day.
12.16.09: The taste of a home cooked meal - I love that I get tired of eating out, especially eating out expensively day after day, meal after meal.
12.15.09: Tolerance - Tolerance for pain, tolerance for other people, tolerance for things outside of my control.
12.14.09: Friendliness - I met three local Argentinians today who shared their stories and mate, and sent me off with a crystal as a gift. Extremely kind people that I was lucky enough to get to know briefly.
12.13.09: Matias - For teaching me about futbol, the Argentinian teams and players, and mostly for showing me his passion for the sport.
12.12.09: Donnell - I wouldn't have gone to Argentina without his help. He is one of the most generous people I know, and so much fun too!
12.11.09: Imagination - Imagination makes life so much more interesting.
12.10.09: Family Care - I couldn't have started in a better organization. I know I did my research, but really, I got so lucky. It's definitely one of the absolute best in P&G.
12.9.09: Cayman and Jackson - They have been keeping me company in my bed all day. I can always count on them to make me feel a little better.
12.8.09: Margie - My mom is the smartest person I know.
12.7.09: Laura - For working so hard (including approval through Mary Lynn) to help recognize me for the work I've done.
12.6.09: Kevin - I had a tough day yesterday, and at the end of the day, I felt like falling apart - more so than usual on my 19-hour Saturdays. I didn't say anything, but apparently my facial expressions said enough. So even though Kevin went to Annie's (he always brings Toby with him to stay the night), he left him home with me to make me feel better. I am truly blessed for meeting him.
12.5.09: Sunrises and sunsets on Saturdays - While the van is not one of my most favorite places, I love watching the sun rise and sun set every Saturday. I have 88 more van rides to go - 44 more sunrises and 44 more sunsets.
12.4.09: Breaks - Every once in awhile I get a lucky break just by happenstance.
12.3.09: James - My mentor, who has been such an inspiration through my first year in Marketing. He always has the right answer, and he truly loves what he does.
12.2.09: Christine - I miss working with her already. I've learned so much from her, and she always makes my day better.
12.1.09: Time - Training ended 12 minutes early today, which was just enough time for me to make it to the Deputy Registrar one minute before it closed. Time is one of the most precious things in life, and it keeps disappearing on me.
